How do I know what to enrol in?
- Familiarise yourself with the rules of your degree
The course structure will outline what you must do to complete the requirements of the degree and the semesters units are offered. For combined degrees with law, the law requirements are the same for all degrees. To access the course structure on the on-line Course and Units database, please follow these steps:
- Access the Course and Units database at www.utas.edu.au/courses
- Select the link for Law
- Select the link for the degree you are taking. For example Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws (L3D)
- Select the tab for Structure and Schedule which appears directly under the heading of the degree
- Click on the link under the Schedules to view the core units, electives and cross-listed units (for law combined degrees)
- Complete your enrolment
Continuing students will be emailed re-enrolment information for their current degree towards the end of September. Re- enrolments can be completed on-line through the eStudent Centre.
New students will be sent an offer/ and an acceptance by email and in the post. For more information please refer to the UTAS enrolments page at eStudent Centre.
- If using a paper form gain COURSE APPROVAL and then SUBMIT your form
Your law enrolment must be signed by either the Law Faculty Executive Officer
or the Sub-Dean of Law. This is important so that it can be checked that:
- You are taking the correct units
- Have covered your law elective groups (if in final year)
- You are on track to graduate at the date you have nominated
Combined degree students eg BA-LLB, BBus-LLB need to obtain course approval from both faculties
ie. Law and Arts for BA-LLB.
- Special approvals
Required if:
- an overload is to be attempted (ie more that 4 x 12.5 % units per semester)
- seeking enrolment in LAW679 Supervised Research
Approval can be sought by emailing the Sub-Dean of Law or Faculty Executive Officer.
- Mooting
All students are required to complete a moot in final year. You need to enrol in
LAW407 Mooting in either Semester 1 or 2.
Who can help?
If you are not sure what to enrol in or if you have enrolled correctly make sure you seek help
BEFORE the Semester 1 2009 census date.
